The aim of the Niger Delta Avengers is to crunch the Nigerian economy and also to promote the course of the agitators for Biafra nation. No doubt, they are getting it right at the moment.
Believe me, our heritage's economy might get worse like we have never had it in time past, if the Nigerian Government fail in its bid to curb the ongoing pipeline vandalism by the Niger Delta Avengers and other militant groups in the SouthSouth/SouthEast Oil producing States.
In case you don't know:
Banks and other financial institution will continue to downsize their staff capacity, as a result of the loss in their investments in the Oil and Gas sector, drop in deposits by Oil and Gas companies and by Staffs among others.
Oil and Gas companies will continue to experience a drop in products and profit, hence downsizing Staff capacity will be imminent. Foreign investors in the Oil and Gas sector might consider leaving the country.
Communities where pipelines are being vandalized will continue to suffer from oil spillage, loss of farm lands and aquatic lives and accidental loss of loved ones.
There will be a monumental drop in Electric power generation, due to the country's over 40% reliance on Gas turbines for electric power generation. Hence, a total blackout beckons.
There will be a sharp increase in the price of cooking gas and other cooking fuels, as a result of scarcity.
The price of Purified Motor Spirit (Petrol) will skyrocket uncontrollably, due to scarcity and profit loss to pipeline vandalism. Hence, there will be a continuous increase in transport fares, price of food stuffs and other daily needs.
Nigeria will be faced with a more battered global image, which will bring more disrepute to us all.
There will be a sharp rise in unemployment, hence poverty will increase and crime will also increase.
The Federal government will continue to spend huge amount of money meant for building other infrastructures on repairs of vandalized pipelines.
To mention just a few.
At the end, there will be a victor and a vanquish... Cross the 'Ts' and dot the 'Is'.
