PPN presidential candidate steps down for Jonathan

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria, Mr. Kelvin Allagoa, has stepped down for the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan.
Allagoa, who was among the 16 presidential candidates cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the March 28 election, attributed the decision to his love for the country and the desire to ensure that Jonathan continues with his transformation agenda.
He said in a statement jointly signed on Tuesday in Lagos by the PPN National Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Adamu, and the National Secretary, Mr. Razak Eyiowuawi, that Jonathan deserved re-election because of his robust performance in office.
The statement read, “We want a Nigeria that is not just about change of personality but the constitution, thoughts and structures that will develop our great nation.
“We believe that Nigeria deserves a new public order; a dispersion from the old militarised mind to a civil thought and social values. We believe we need continuous reorganisation and restructuring and opening of hidden potential.”
The PPN, which won a seat in the House of Representatives and three seats in Ogun State House of Assembly in the 2011 general elections, added that it adopted Jonathan because his administration had transformed all the critical sectors of the economy.
