The Super Eagles & Social Media - Pinnick, Okocha, others take on football in Lagos Social Media Week

The country’s best loved sport would come under the radar on Friday as the Lagos Social Media Week comes to a close

Everything football would come under the radar on Friday as Social Media Week Lagos dedicates the day to the beautiful game.

All roads lead to the Landmark Events Centre, Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island, where football aficionados would speak about the game under different panels.

Among confirmed panelists for the football day are NFF president Amaju Pinnick, former Super Eagles captain Jay Jay Okocha, former Super Falcons striker Mercy Akide-Udoh, LMC chairman Nduka Irabor, LMC executive Shehu Dikko, Lagos FA chairman Seyi Akinwunmi, Complete Sports managing editor Mumuni Alao among many others.
The first panel of the day will be “Nigeria, Super Eagles, Social Media & The Future Of Nigerian Football” which would have as discussants Pinnick, Okocha, Alao, Irabor and Super Sport West Africa managing director Felix Awogu as well as Ayo Alli of Gbamm.

The second panel that would hold on the day is “Connecting Fans: Harnessing The Commercial Potential of Nigerian Football”, an expert panel that will seek to identify and understand the vast commercial potential of Nigeria’s football obsession and explore how Social Media can help tap the opportunity of 170 million football fans.
At midday, the feature documentary “The Beautiful Game” will be screened while a question and answer session would follow with co-executive producer of the film Kojo Annan.

Other panels scheduled for the day are “Bafana Bafana! Social Networks & Culture + South African Football & The 2010 World Cup” which is a keynote session presented by Vivian Casaletti and “Ladies First! Social Media & The Future For Women In Football” which will address the perceptions and misconceptions about women in football and explore how and if social media and technology can play a significant commercial, welfare or economic role in the present or future of the women’s game.
