A man who has been impersonating the Nigerian Army has been arrested in Bauchi State.
An impostor who has been parading himself as a Brigadier-General of the the Nigerian Army, Aliyu Hussaini, has been arrested by the military authorities in Bauchi State.
According to the 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army in the state, Hussaini who is also known as Colonel, was arrested at New GRA behind the Deputy Governor’s House in Bauchi metropolis, while the following items were recovered from them: two Nokia phones, a Samsung handset and a Techno handset, one MTN sim card and a Peugeot 406 vehicle with registration number AU 222 BWR (ABUJA).
The statement said:
"Documents indicative of various fraudulent details were also recovered from the suspect who is a suspected Boko Haram terrorist member and an impostor who has been parading himself as a Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army."
The statement also added that troops who were acting on a tip off, said Hussaini was a sponsor and also a member of the Boko Haram organisation, was arrested together with another suspected Boko Haram member, Ibrahim Mohammed who is also known as Yuram.
It was also revealed that Hussaini had been defrauding innocent citizens in the belief that he was a General in the Nigerian Army.
