16 Reasons Hillary Clinton Could Be The Next U.S. President

Hillary Clinton
The only real question about the 2016 presidential campaign is who will run against Hillary Clinton.
The 2016 Democratic race will test her. There's no doubt she won't keep her large lead against Bernie Sanders.

Haters and detractors will resist the temptation of voting for the smart democratic candidate in the primary for a little while. They, like the voters supporting Republican candidates, will realize America needs a second Clinton in the White House.

Here are the reasons she could become the next president..

1. She Understands Foreign Policy

The world has changed a lot since she last lived in the White House, but so has Hillary's resume. She's been a senator and Secretary of State. In fact, she served as Secretary of State during a turbulent time with the goal of keeping America safe.

She's the most traveled secretary of state in history. She attended more than 300 diplomatic meetings. She's built a record of effectively working with allies to resolve challenges standing in the way of global peace.

2. It's Time for an Insider

The first part of this century in politics has been devoted to the political "outsiders." From President Bush to Obama, everyone has eagerly voted for the candidate with no Washington experience or connections.

Times have changed. Do you look at the Bush or Obama years as fondly as you do the Clinton years?
The time of prosperity can return again with the help of this Washington insider.

3. Hillary is Authentic

Hillary has nothing to hide. The person you see is the person you get. Many people love Hillary--even more may not like her. No one can say she's pretending to be someone she's not.
No other candidate is as authentic.

"The American people are tired of liars and people who pretend to be something they're not," she told "60 Minutes" in 1992.

"I remember landing under sniper fire," she said about a trip to Bosnia in 2004.

4. Fight to Return Americans to Middle Class Status

The middle class is a group of people mainly read about in textbooks now.

That doesn't mean she won't continue to fight grow the middle class. She grew up middle class and has often discussed the life lessons it taught her.

That's why she's always fought to retain and grow the middle class. She wants every poor family to experience the rewards and benefits of growing up in the middle class and aspiring for more.

"We are going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good," she said during her 2008 presidential campaign.

5. Voters are looking for a President, not to Make History

Hillary ran in 2008, but people weren't looking for a president. Voters were looking to make history.
A country thirsty to show racism no longer existed in America chose another Democratic presidential candidate. Eight years later, things have changed.
It's not a popularity contest or about making history. The 2016 presidential election is about electing a president.

6. She is a Smart Politician

Her qualifications speak for themselves. In fact, she really has no political peer in the race.
For example, Hillary has the most foreign policy experience than any of the Republican or Democratic challengers running for president:

"[Hillary has] hardly racked up any major achievements (as Secretary of State)," said Stephen M. Walt, Harvard University's Professor of International Affairs at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government in his book The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, "She played little role in extricating us from Iraq, and it is hard to see her fingerprints on the U.S. approach to Afghanistan.

"She has done her best to smooth the troubled relationship with Pakistan, but anti-Americanism remains endemic in that country and it hardly looks like a success story at this point..."

7. Hillary Paved the Way on Health Care

During the Clinton years, no one fought harder for universal health care than Hillary.
Yes, her health care plan failed. Several times.

However, she set the groundwork used to create the health care law today. Even though her own universal health care plan didn't work, she never stopped working on the issue.

In fact, as senator, she achieved getting health care for all American children with the creation of the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
