The Nigerian military in a recent successful raid against on Boko Haram terrorists in the North-east, has arrested the financier and captured several weapons belonging to the insurgents.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, in a statement Tuesday, said this was made possible by the troops of 112 Battalion and Special Forces in Mafa and Dikwa, who on a joint fighting patrol raided the terrorist camp at Bulungwa Naibe in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.
During the operation, Usman said quite a number of the Boko Haram terrorists were killed and some items were recovered from them.
He listed the items to include one Buffalo vehicle mounted with an anti-aircraft gun, a rocket propelled grenade, two machine guns and one sub-machine gun.
Others were five AK-47 rifles, a Fabrique Nationale rifle and two sewing machines used for sewing uniforms by the terrorists.

The DAPR recalled that the terrorists used to launch attacks on hapless civilians in the Dikwa general area.
He said: “Troops have also intercepted and arrested a suspected Boko Haram financier and stimulants dealer, Mohammed Maina in Bama, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
“The suspect a native of Ngurosoye came from Shuari village in Bama Local Government Area, he was arrested with the sum of N1million cash and some items.”
According Usman, investigation revealed that Mohammed supplies the terrorists kolanuts and other items, especially stimulants.
The suspect, he noted, further revealed that kolanuts were in high demand among the terrorists as it keeps them active at night.
“It is apparent also that he plies Maiduguri-Dikwa-Kulli axis where he gathers monetary and other materials contributions from Boko Haram sympathisers along that axis and send same to the terrorist camps,” he added.
Usman stated that troops morale remained very high and they “are ever ready to continue with their duty in the most professional and responsive manner.”
Meanwhile, determined to expose and possibly arrest the sponsors of the Boko Haram terrorist group, the military has arrested more of the collaborators in Borno State.
This is following the recent nabbing of terrorist financier, fund raiser and stimulant supplier, Mohammed Maina by troops of 21 Brigade on Tuesday.
While confirming this in a statement on Tuesday, Usman disclosed that the “arrested terrorist has been making very useful statements and lending more insights in the activities of the terrorists and their collaborators.”
This, he said, has been yielding positive results and as a follow up to the arrest, more arrests are being made.
“Three collaborators; Jikana Alhaji Goni, aged 29 years of Hausari Ward Maiduguri, Alhaji Musa Alhaji Modu, also of Hausari Ward Maiduguri, 37 years, and Alhaji Aba’ana Na Alhaji Sule, aged 40, of Hausari Ward, Maiduguri were arrested and are being interrogated,” he added.
The military also issued a stern warning to all members of Boko Haram terrorists to either surrender willingly and face the legal prosecutions, or be smoked out from their hiding.
It ordered the terrorists “wherever they are, to desist from all acts of terrorism, surrender themselves and face the law now.”
Usman maintained that there is no more hiding place for the insurgents as the troops involved in the Operation Lafiya Dole in the North as well as the military hierarchy knows their hideouts.
“We wish to inform them that we are aware of all their hideouts, camps and enclaves. They should follow their colleagues who have so far surrendered,” he said.
According to the DAPR, “failure to surrender will result in serious consequences as our troops are fast closing in on them.
“We equally appeal to the parents, families and friends of all those involved in Boko Haram terrorists activities to kindly persuade them to desist and renounce their membership of the terrorist organisation forthwith.”
Usman also appealed to the people of the North-eastern part of the country, in particular those of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States to prevail on these terrorists to renounce their evil ways immediately.
