Alamieyeseigha: Bayelsa State Government Declares One Week Mourning

Bayelsa State Government has declared one week of mourning in honour of the first civilian governor of the state, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha,Moho died on Saturday.
The government in a statement by the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Esueme Dan-Kikile said all flags are to fly at half mast for the period, even as it states that all official government engagements remain cancelled until after the mourning period.
"Government is working closely with the Alamieyeseigha family to give the former governor a befitting burial," he said.
Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, who was an unrepentant resource control crusader, died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital UPTH after a brief illness.
