APC Plans Special Convention to Fill Vacant Offices

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will soon convene a mini- convention to address the lingering tussle over the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) chairmanship post as well as to fill the vacant positions of the National Working Committee (NWC) created due to federal appointments to outgoing occupants.
THISDAY gathered that the convention is likely to be held before the end of November and may be used to rejig the leadership of the party.
Also, there were indications that the continued delay in the inauguration of the BoT has been brought on by the divergent interests of the party’s bigwigs who have shown interest in the chairmanship post, coupled with the ongoing crisis at the National Assembly.
Another issue that has continued to stall the inaugural meeting of APC BoT is the fact that Senate President Bukola Saraki’s membership of the body continues to generate disharmony among those for and against his standoff with the party.READ MORE
