Buhari’s Liaison Officer, Nura Rimi, Sent On Diplomatic Posting To UAE

A letter signed by the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari, stated that Mr. Rimi had been “temporarily deployed from the Office of Protocol to the office of then President as ‘Presidential Liaison Officer’ to facilitate contacts with the office of the outgone President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan during the transition period.”     =====================================
The letter, dated October 5, 2015, and addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that, “having satisfactorily discharged his assigned responsibilities, [Mr.] Rimi is hereby released to proceed on his foreign diplomatic posting to the United Arab Emirates.”
A source in Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told SaharaReporters that Mr. Rimi had been appointed the charge de affairs or Deputy Ambassador of Nigeria to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In his new post, he is charged with covering such important hubs as Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. 
“The new posting demonstrates President Buhari’s confidence in Ambassador Nura Rimi as a top diplomat. That’s why the president decided to give him a diplomatic mission that covers an extremely important area where Nigeria’s economic and other strategic interests continue to grow,” said the source. 
Meanwhile, President Buhari has also asked the State Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Lawal Kazaure, to assume the role of Presidential Liaison Officer
