Benue PDP candidate in the governorship election, Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor
George Okoh In Makurdi
Dissatisfied with the decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State, dismissing his petition, the candidate of the People's Democratic Party ( PDP ) in the governorship election, Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor, on Friday filed a notice of appeal containing 13 grounds before the Court of Appeal, Makurdi Division.
He is challenging the decision of the lower tribunal which dismissed his petition against Governor Samuel Ortom, describing it as a miscarriage of justice.
Mr Tarzoor had filed a petition before the tribunal challenging the qualification of Mr. Samuel Ortom from contesting the April 11th governorship election in the state but the Justice Elizabeth Karatu led tribunal, had on the 21st September 2015, dismissed the petition, claiming that the petitioner failed to seek as one of its reliefs, the conduct of a fresh election.
