My boys are the future of Nigerian football, says Manu Garba

After winning the African Youth Championship in Senegal, the Nigeria U20 gaffer has said his side hold the future of Nigeria football.

Flying Eagles handler, Manu Garba has disclosed that his team are the future of Nigeria football.

A first half wonder strike from Bernard Bulbwa saw the Nigeria U20 team beat hosts Senegal 1-0 in the 2015 African Youth Championship final for a seventh title.

According a delighted Garba, fielding players from academies to win the competition is a good sign of for the growth of the country’s football.

“I feel elated and great. I was part of the team that won the same competition in 1983 as a player and I’m happy to win it as a coach,” Manu said in a post match conference.

“The difference is the goal of the tournament which was scored by number 7, Bernard Bulbwa.

“This team is the future of Nigerian football. We have only two players from the Nigeria Premier League with the rest from academies, which is a good sign for the development of Nigerian football,” he concluded.

Nigeria will face Brazil, Hungary and Korea DPR in Group E of the 2015 World Youth Championship in New Zealand.
