Man sees bride for first time, tries to commit suicide because she's 'ugly'

Kang Hu saw his bride Na Sung, 30, for the first time before their arranged marriage was to take place.

According to www.themirror.co.uk, the 33-year-old from China apologised to his bride before telling her that it would be 'bad for his image' to marry a woman that is 'too ugly'.

He then walked out of the ceremony and threw himself in a nearby river. Passers-by called the police, who rescued him.

He later explained: "I feel bad about what happened but when I saw her she wasn’t what I had expected and I realised she would be bad for my image.

"My parents had arranged this and I couldn’t see any way out apart from suicide."
