Former World Player of the Year Kaka says he still has plenty to offer Brazil as they prepare for the Copa America in June.
Midfielder Kaka, 33, who now plays for Major League Soccer's Orlando City, was a spectator as last year's World Cup hosts lost 7-1 in the semis to Germany.
Now, with Dunga in charge of the team following Luiz Felipe Scolari's exit, Kaka is hoping to play a key role.
"If Dunga thinks I can fit in this team, I'll be ready," he said.
"I think I can still play for Brazil and help with my skills and experience, but it does not depend on me."
Brazil's loss to Germany last July was their biggest in World Cup history.
But under Dunga, the Selecao have won all eight of their international friendlies.
Kaka played in two of those games, coming on as a substitute in the wins against Argentina and Japan last October.
The former AC Milan and Real Madrid star says the appointment of Dunga has turned Brazil's fortunes around.
"We lost our confidence in the last World Cup but Dunga is doing a very good job now," Kaka told BBC's World Football programme.
The 2015 Copa America is being held in Chile from 11 June to 4 July. Twelve teams will compete, including defending champions Uruguay.
Dunga is in his second spell in charge of Brazil, after guiding them to the World Cup quarter-finals in 2010.
He also captained Brazil to World Cup success in 1994.
