Lagos: Order Stopping Coronation Subsists –Lawyer

The lead counsel for the claimant in the suit that brought about an ex-parte order stopping the coronation of Chief Kabiru Shotebi as the new Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, John Osighala, has faulted media reports suggesting that the order had been vacated.
The claimant, Odupitan Eniola, who is from the Lambo branch of the Lasunwon chieftaincy family of Ikorodu Kingdom, had secured an ex-parte order of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja halting the scheduled coronation of Shotebi, who hailed from the Adegorushe branch of the Lasunwon chieftaincy family, as the new Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom.
Osighala, in an interview with newsmen, on Monday, said the reports suggesting the vacation of the ex-parte order were wickedly manufactured to deceive the public.
He urged members of the public to disregard the reports, as they were totally false and misleading.
He added: “What happened at the last adjourned date was that all the parties agreed to vacate the next hearing date which was 26th of August to October 6 and to transfer the case file to Ikorodu.”
